Certain aspects of combat can feel clunky and loading times can be annoying given all the backtracking you need to do. Thankfully, the game manages to strike a good balance between action and tension while weaving a narrative that encourages you to discover whatвЂ™s next. Sci-fi survival horror can have a been-there, done-that vibe but Prey manages to add another worthy entry to a genre that has seen its fair share of titles. If you like games like Bioshock or Dead Space, this is one prey that youвЂ™ll likely want to stalk. Although it doesnвЂ™t revolutionize the genre, itвЂ™s a very polished representation that provides a worthy entry for fans of the survival-horror in space. To its credit, it manages to squeeze in some action to the mix without sacrificing the tension from its survival-horror DNA. Ultimately, however, Prey does justice to a genre that, at times, feels like itвЂ™s been done to death. The music also does a good job in setting the mood, which can range from solitary to hectic. Prey serves up a diverse set of environs for a space station, which include some impressive set pieces. Production values, meanwhile, are solid overall. The game is also clearly designed to be played more than once, thanks to different paths as well as multiple endings, the main ones involving a twist that would make M. This includes taking the time to save people or taking a colder, more calculated approach to which priorities truly matter in the grand scheme of things. Prey also gives you the element of choice as far as your priorities go. Even the GLOO cannon can be used to blaze a path by shooting it against walls to create platforms that you can walk and jump on. The game also encourages creativity in how you tackle exploration as some situations can be tackled via more than one approach. While the main narrative itself is understandably linear, you have plenty of freedom to look around and search for items or find and complete optional quests that further flesh out the Prey experience.

The space station itself serves as a nice sandbox with various areas for you to explore. Many Typhons, on the other hand, are susceptible to psychic attacks. Mechanical foes, for example are weak against EMPs but immune to nullwave and psychic attacks. EItems can then be recycled into materials to fuel your crafting habit and help increase your chances of survival.Д®ven when fighting вЂњregularвЂќ enemies, each encounter can be a literal life-and-death struggle so youвЂ™ll need to learn the best way to tackle each and every enemy. If youвЂ™re a gaming pack rat, Prey will tickle your hoarding tendencies as it encourages you to salvage every little thing you can find, whether it be electronics parts or even the toilet paper on the floor next to a toilet bowl. These include weapons, ammo, health kits and all sorts of nifty stuff. The good news is that Morgan is like a space MacGyver, which means you can craft a bunch of items once you gain access to the proper equipment. Indeed, discretion is the better part of valor in a lot of instances and thereвЂ™s no shame in running to live and fight another day. There will be times when you're sitting on a motherload of ammo or resources, only to run out at the most inopportune time. Just keep in mind that this is a survival game, which means resources are limited and you canвЂ™t just shoot yourself out of every situation. You can also acquire a variety of sidearms that are more effective in alien killing than a wrench.
